Milton 2E10F.2c 10¢ Second Issue Experimental Very Choice New. Similar to Valentine 212 (Milton 2E10F.2a), but with the three pie-wedge type cancels and the "SPECIMEN" stamp. This great piece has a partial plate number 3 at the upper-right corner, and that plate number is of a different style than any plate number we are familiar with. Incorporated in the design of the "3" are two complete ovals. The normally seen plate numbers are much plainer "stick figures." Previously lot 930 of our Milton R. Friedberg auction. This piece realized $990 way back in 1997. Pencilled collector notations are found on the back.
