    Fr. 1288 25¢ Second Issue PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
    A beautiful example, this piece is well printed, very bright and extremely well margined. Fr. 1288 can be a very difficult note to locate for a collector who is fastidious about condition. This one should please the most conscientious. The "2" in the surcharge is well printed and completely clear. This digit is often defective and appears to be a "1". That gave rise to the infamous Friedberg 1287 listing...that note does not exist. This pretty note has also received the accolade "Great Bronzing" from PMG.
