Fr. 1283 Milton 2R25.1c 25¢ Second Issue Treasury Rectangle Very Fine. The note is well circulated, and it has some holes on the "T" of "Treas" in the rectangle, but the entire box and every letter are clear. The bronze has darkened, which makes the rectangle much more distinct than on most examples. Treasury Department rectangles had been printed on the blank paper before the notes were printed, and were intended to be trimmed off. A full explanation of their history can be found in our January '97 Milt Friedberg catalog or our May '05 O'Mara catalog.
