    Description

Fr. 1235 5¢ Second Issue PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
This is the only 5¢ note printed on Fiber Paper. It is a scarce note in all grades, and it becomes quite rare in New and above. This example is perfect but for its centering. The top margin is a hair close, although free from the frame line at all points. Save for that, this note appears to be a Gem. PCGS has graded a total of 34 examples, with three at this level and only a single piece higher. The PMG statistics are identical: they have graded 38 with one 66, no 65s, and three 64s. Those eight notes grading 64 and higher at both services certainly represent less than eight different pieces and possibly as few as four.
