Extremely Rare Uncanceled Second Issue 50c Experimental Gem New. This note is Milton 2E50R.5. When the Encyclopedia was published, the only known example was the damaged note which was plated. The example we are selling now was discovered after that date, as was another that Milt Friedberg had acquired and sold in our January 1997 sale of his incomparable collection. This note has the full engraving and bronze of the regular issue on the back, and the bronze oval only on the face. It is not stamped "SPECIMEN," nor is it canceled. It lacks only the face printing to be a regular-issue note.
