DescriptionFr. 1382 Fractional Currency Shield, With Gray Background.
An attractively framed shield with a nice appearance, a paper backing and modern brackets have been applied to the back making it difficult to discern the age of the frame. The first three of the four hand-signed notes have Jeffries-Spinner signature combination, while the Colby-Spinner combination is seen on the 10¢ Washington note. Unlike many shields, this example displays minimal water staining. Several folds are observed at upper left and are primarily outside of the outline of the shield. Areas of paper pull are seen within the gray area near lower right. The notes retain good color overall, with the typical fading of the 25¢ back noticed. A very nice example.
