Fr. 1357 50¢ Third Issue Justice PCGS About New 53.
Although listed after the Spinner notes, Justices were actually the first Third Issue fifty-cent notes printed and the 1357s were the first of the series. They were printed on fiber paper, with a red back, autographed signatures of Colby and Spinner and back surcharges "S-2-6-4," the only notes with this combination. These were printed on Nov. 14, 1864 and only 3,060 examples were printed. This example is bright with bright bronzing and a very large penned signature of Colby. Tightly margined, but all four are fully present. No ink burn or bleed through is present.
