    Description

Fr. 1331 50¢ Third Issue Spinner Courtesy Autograph PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40.
We sold this note once before, as Lot 396 in our FUN 2006 auction. We described it there as: "A rather ordinary Spinner, with several folds and a pinhole, but this note carries a far from ordinary courtesy autograph. The back bears the large, bold handwritten 'William Windom - Secretary.' Windom served two separate terms as Secretary of the Treasury, and we cannot recall seeing his courtesy autograph before." While Windom is no longer unique as a Fractional Courtesy Autograph, it remains very, very rare, with only this and one other example known to us. Minor ink erosion is mentioned on the third party back label.
