Description

Very Scarce Fr. 1330 Allison-New 50 Cents Spinner

Fr. 1330 50¢ Third Issue Spinner PCGS Apparent Choice About New 58.
The Allison and New hand-signed Fr. 1330 is one of the classic Fractional rarities. These Red Back Spinner notes should have been issued well prior to those. The notes were clearly not intended as a regular issue. Instead, they were signed to be given to friends or used as some form of a patronage favor. In any event, they became legal tender when signed since Allison and New were legal signers. The majority of known Fr. 1330 pieces grade 60 and higher. No accurate census exists, but the presumed census is in the 25 to 35 range. We believe that three sheets of twelve were originally signed, and most of the notes have survived. Nonetheless, the population figure is dwarfed by the number of collectors who desire an example. This Fractional is noted with "Mounting Remnants," but it still is highly desirable.
