One of the Finest Known Fr. 1300s for Eye Appeal

Fr. 1300 25¢ Third Issue PCGS Banknote Choice AU 58.
This note originally surfaced in the Memphis 1995 sale as Lot 368. Mike Marchioni was the buyer there, and the note remained in his collection until we auctioned it for him in January of 2000. While there are several 1300s graded higher, this note has by far the best eye appeal of any from the face. The back centering is not the equal of the face, but it is certainly acceptable. The note is incredibly bright for a Fiber Paper note, with excellent bronze and flawless paper quality. There is not a hint of an edge split, chip or problem, which are present on almost all the known examples due to the extremely fragile fiber paper. A rare opportunity.
