    Description

Fr. 1273SP 15¢ Third Issue Narrow Margin Face PCGS New 62.
This is a beautiful example of one of the key notes of specimen Fractionals, the 15¢ Grant and Sherman Face note with autographed signatures of Colby and Spinner. These specimens were only found on the very rare pink and green Fractional Shields and are Rarity-5 notes, with about 35-40 pieces known. This piece easily is in the top five of the condition census. PCGS has graded only two Uncirculated examples, a lone 61 and this 62 above it. At out FUN 2013 Auction, we sold a PMG 1273 Narrow Margin Face graded 65 EPQ for $4112. This piece will not reach that level, but it is a spectacular example of its type and could approach that mark in spite of its three point difference.
