Five Piece Fourth Issue James Gilfillan Courtesy Autograph Set

Fr. 1261, 1267, 1302, 1376 and 1379 Fourth Issue Courtesy Autograph Set PMG Graded.
All the notes are autographed vertically to the right of the portraits by James Gilfillan, who was Treasurer from July 1, 1877 until March 31, 1883. The set in its entirety was Lot 808 of Ford 19. Carmine bought it at that sale, and he had the foresight to keep the five notes together with their original sale tag. The full vertical autograph in every case reads "Jas. Gilfillan - Treas. U.S." The notes are graded by PMG as follows: 1261 About Uncirculated 55, pinholes; 1267 Choice Uncirculated 64; 1302 Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ; 1376 Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ; and 1379 Extremely Fine 40, toning. All notes were clearly signed at the same time. (Total: 5 notes)
