Fr. 1253 10¢ Third Issue PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
"This series of 10 Cent Third Issue notes offers a lot of variety. There are two different autographed red back types, and even a prohibitively rare green back autographed type. This is the red back type with Colby and Spinner autographs instead of the typically seen facsimile signatures. Both our Auction Archives as well as the PCGS Population Report bear out the fact that this variety is reasonably available up through and including the Gem CU 65PQ grade level. After that the air becomes more rarefied, with PCGS showing one other 66PPQ listing and a single 67PPQ listing. In our 2019 Long Beach sale, we sold a visually inferior PMG Gem Unc 66 EPQ for just over $1,000. Serious collectors have noticed the surging prices in top-caliber fractional notes in recent months." This was our description when we sold this same note for $600 in our September Long Beach sale.
