Fr. 1280 25¢ First Issue Vertical Strip of Four PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.The first appearance of this piece was in our 2000 offering of the Mike Marchioni Collection where the piece was described in part, "This fascinating strip is perforated only on the left and right vertical margins, but not horizontally. Each of the four notes is a perfect Gem in its own right, and the strip itself, with its top and bottom selvage wholly intact, has incredible eye appeal. This has been one of the prized items in Mike's Collection for over two decades, and tonight it will find a home with another collector who should and probably will prize it just as highly." When last sold in January 2012 this great strip realized $4,600. We would certainly expect more this evening.
