Lee McClung Courtesy Autographed First Issue Straight-Edge Notes
Courtesy Autographs Fr. 1230 Milton 1R5.4n 5¢; 1242 1R10.4k 10¢;
1281 1R25.4j 25¢; 1312 1R50.4j 50¢ First Issues PMG Graded.A striking set, all clearly signed at the same time by Treasurer Lee McClung. Carmine purchased this set as Lot 880 from Ford 19. Courtesy Autographs are rarely available in set form, but Carmine has several. These notes are also higher quality than what is generally seen for Courtesy Autographs. In order, starting with the 5¢ they grade Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ, Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ, Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ and Choice Extremely Fine 45. The 45 graded example also mentions "Staple Holes" on the holder. The four notes have been placed in a specially made holder by PMG and display wonderfully. The signature on each is executed on two lines, "Lee McClung - Treasurer of the US." (Total: 4 notes)
