    Description

Fr. 1381 50¢ Fifth Issue About New & Extremely Fine. Two Notes Total. This lot contains two "Bob Hope" notes. Crawford's resemblance to Bob Hope led to the nickname. Only three denominations of Fifth Issue Fractionals were issued. Crawford notes were issued from July 1875 through February 1876. Although the faces were printed by the BEP, the backs of the Fifth Issue 50¢ notes were printed by Joseph R. Carpenter in Philadelphia. The About New example has nice color. The Extremely Fine example has light staining and several small tears at the top margin. (Total: 2 notes)
