Milton 2E50F.2b 50¢ Second Issue Essay (Experimental) Choice About New. From the size of the paper, this is a half note, but from the size of the printing, it is a one-quarter note. This is the way these pieces were originally produced. As an example, see Tom's block of five about six lots back. That block contains two pieces very similar to this. This piece bears a fragment of the "B" from BALTIMORE in its right margin. Although the position of the "B" on the note is different, it's almost exactly like the lower-left note from Tom's reconstructed block in every other way. This is a fascinating piece (quite literally) of Fractional Currency history. Obtained privately by Tom from Doug Hales with no previous auction history.
