Milton 2E25FR.7 25¢ Second Issue Color Trial Good. Acquired by Doug Hales as lot 1032 of our MRF Sale, and transitioned to the Tom O'Mara Sale when Tom bought Doug's collection in October of 1999. Our Friedberg description: "Grading only approximately Good, this fascinating and unique piece has either seen considerable actual circulation or is much the worse for improper storage. The face is the 25¢ engraving with an inverted large bronze "25" and the rare "D-5-18-63" surcharge. The back is a light green printing of the reverse engraving with a blank central shield area. This note, which is missing its upper-right corner and has a small body hole, is likely to afford some collector the opportunity of acquiring a unique Experimental note without breaking the bank."
