    Description

10¢ Second Issue Experimental Milton 2E10R.4c PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
But for the lack of the face engraving this note is identical to a Fr. 1249 Regular Issue Fiber Paper Ten Cent note. About a half dozen examples are known of this extremely popular unpunched, unstencilled Experimental note. PMG has gotten several things right on the holder. The grade, indeed, seems to be 64 EPQ, and they spelled PMG correctly. That is about it. The Milton number they have assigned is that of a non-existent Regular Issue variety, and staying with that theme, they refer to the surcharge as the non-existent C-1-18-63. Milt's identical example realized $825 in 1997 and Tom O'Mara's did about the same in 2005. In last year's FUN auction, we sold a PCGS 64 for $1,050.
