One Of Three Dallas Thousands Known-First Appearance of This Note Since 1984

Fr. 1133-K $1,000 1918 Federal Reserve Note PCGS Very Fine 35.
Any collector who has aspired to collect large size high denominations by district soon learns that there are two "stopper" districts of the eleven that issued notes of this denomination...Minneapolis, with two examples known, and Dallas, where three pieces comprise the entire census. This is one of the three. It has been off the market since its last appearance in a 1984 auction, having been in the holdings of our consignor since that date. PCGS has since graded it Very Fine 35, and it is flawless for the grade, with bright colors, excellent margins, and no real traces of any true circulation. The other two Dallas district thousands have both been off the market for ten years or more, with the nicer of the pair, which grades EF40, having last sold for $80,500 in 2007 and the lesser piece, which grades VF25, having fetched $29,900 when it made its first auction appearance since 1987 in 2010. With no sales in the last decade, any estimate is simply a guess, but we anticipate bidding will easily reach and perhaps well exceed...
