Handsome Uncirculated-Appearing PCGS 58 Fifty Dollar Federal Reserve Bank Note
Fr. 831 $50 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Choice About New
58.Only three notes grade higher at PCGS than this 58; a 58PPQ and two uncirculated examples. This note has been off the market since 2000 when it was auctioned raw as a Choice New by another auction house. At that time, and at that grade level, it realized $14,300. The intervening years have made up for the change in grade, and the value as a 58 now surpasses its uncirculated value a dozen and a half years ago. Very nicely margined and with the full appearance of an uncirculated note. In fact, through the holder, the note appears to be the Choice New that is was once called.
