Sole Uncirculated Atlanta $20 FRBN Star

Fr. 1870-F* $20 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. PMG Uncirculated 62 EPQ.
A very rare star and more than likely to forever stay that way, as this Atlanta star had a printing of only 8,000 notes. This offering is easily the finest known of the half dozen examples in the census, and is crossing the auction block for the first time. It is a crackling fresh note that is only held back in grade by a slender top margin. Four years ago, we sold the second finest known piece, an impaired About Uncirculated note, for $2,820. This clearly superior replacement note should double that realization.
