Original San Francisco $5 Brown Seal

Fr. 1850-L $5 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ.
A lovely note with dark inks and white paper which, from all outward appearances, faces up a bit nicer through the third-party holder than the assigned grade. This piece can also be described as an uncirculated note with three vertical folds and bold bank title embossing. This tells us that this note had just the briefest time in circulation before being put aside. This example is also the fourth-highest graded survivor from the key San Francisco district based on current Track & Price data. Our best comparison to an example that has already crossed our auction block was when we auctioned a PMG 45 EPQ example for $11,162.50 in April 2013.
