One of Just Two Known Dallas $5 FRBN Replacements

Fr. 1850-K* $5 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. PMG Very Fine 25 EPQ.
This $5 star from the Dallas district is one of the highlights of tonight's sale. It is one of just two pieces of its kind known, a census number that has not changed in well over a decade. Both known Dallas stars are about equal in grade, with the other reported piece in a PMG Very Fine 25 holder. Tonight's offering, while in the same grade, has also received the coveted EPQ designation from PMG. That other known note last appeared on the market in our 2013 FUN auction where it brought $28,200. We will estimate this evenly circulated and original replacement note somewhat conservatively and let the bidders decide tonight.
