Fr. 1975-H $5 1977A Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
An intriguing error printed on what PCGS rather enigmatically calls, "defective paper stock." While the presence of the normal red and blue fibers would indicate that standard Crane bank note stock was utilized, the paper is clearly distinctly thinner than normal, with the printing on each side visible on the other. The fourth edition of the Bart error reference states on pages 272-73, " rare instances, the stock is so thin as to be translucent." This is the obvious situation with this St. Louis $5.
