Elusive Dallas District $100 Dual Inverted Star Error
One of Two Known 1928 Dallas Replacement Notes

Fr. 2150-K* $100 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 25.
A wonderful note which under normal circumstances would be quite rare, in fact, one of just two known 1928 Dallas $100 Replacements. Combined with the fact that this piece exhibits not one but two inverted stars makes it legendary. An operator error caused the stars to be placed in the numbering wheel upside down. The stars are rotated 180 degrees and the crown points directly down. Dual star inverts have been reported in the Dallas district and San Francisco district replacement runs, but this is only Dallas double inverted star that we know of.
