Fr. 1925-L $1 1999 Federal Reserve Note. Very Fine-Extremely Fine.
This plate letter F3 note received an impressive dark double partial impression on the back right half and with two plate numbers visible. Partial doubling is possible when a previously printed sheet reenters the printing press on top of another sheet. If these sheets are not aligned exactly on top of each other, the printed sheet can obtain a portion of the designs meant for the other sheet. This partial doubling stops abruptly in a straight line due to the edge of the other sheet. This is what is seen on this major error note as the doubling stops after "God" and before "We" in the motto. See page 193 of the second edition of the US Error Note Encyclopedia by Stephen M. Sullivan.
