Inverted Back Type II Error Fr. 1934-L $1 2009 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.This is the first of a consecutive pair of Type II $1 inverts offered here today. A change in the cutting stages beginning with Series 1981A caused all inverted back errors to exhibit the appearance of a massive faulty alignment on the back. These are known as Type II examples, like the error in this lot. The earlier, well centered on both sides inverted back errors are known as Type I examples. The year 2020 saw us auction two inverted back Type II errors that were graded PMG 66 EPQ. The first was a $10 1985 FRN that realized $2,400 and the second was a Fr. 2075-D $20 1985 FRN that realized $2,280.
