Ink Smear and Offset Star Errors.
Fr. 1901-E* $1 1963A Federal Reserve Star Notes. Two Consecutive Examples. PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ
Fr. 1962-F* $5 1950A Federal Reserve Star Note. PMG Extremely Fine 40
Fr. 2023-J* $10 1977 Federal Reserve Star Note. PMG Very Fine 30.
Star errors are highly unusual with the consecutive Star errors being even more so. The $1 Stars have an ink smear blob on the face and the $10 Star exhibits the always in demand "torrents of rain" look. The $5 Star has a thin face to back offset along the back left edge. This $5 Star is also 7 mm wider than normal due to a foldover of the right selvage. It is a R plate position note from an 18-subject sheet and thus is from the lower right corner. This $5 Star can also be called a "double error" as this extra length has left five paper guide line markers in the back lower left corner.

    Estimate: $600 - $800.
