    Description

"King of Errors" Double Denomination Fr. 868 $5/$10 1914 FRN

Fr. 868 $5/$10 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Fine 15.
A rare large size double denomination that is one of a small population of just eight pieces for this Friedberg number. All eight of these "$15" notes are from two sheets of four that have been enumerated since 1998. Tonight's example is in a comment free holder and with a third party grade of Fine 15, it resides comfortably in the middle of that select octet. No apologies will be necessary for the grade of this error note as we can see through the third party holder why this example is in the census with a grade of VF. It definitely has fewer folds than what is usually seen at this grade level. Bidders should be prepared to stretch in order to bring this "King of Errors" home.
