HB-28 EP-4A 1¢ Ayer's Sarsaparilla Medium "Ayer's" Choice About New. This beautiful piece has over 95% of its original silvering remaining, including the front of the case, which is almost never seen. "A very good case" could be made to call this piece fully uncirculated. What will appear in the photograph as a spot by the second "s" of "sarsaparilla" is a minor area where the original silvering did not take. While this is a common piece, any encasement with this much silvering should be considered very rare. The mica is as flawless as they ever come, and the stamp is beautifully bright.
