    HB-202 EP-54 Reed-PE03 3¢ Pearce Tolle & Holton Extremely Fine.
While quite rare (rated as an R-8 by Reed 5-10 known), this 3¢ piece is tied with the 5¢ as the most available of the Pearce pieces. As a merchant, it is one of the very rarest, with about 20 examples traced for all known denominations combined. This 3¢ is one of the nicer Pearces we have had the opportunity of handling. The case is a lovely natural golden brown with a few darker highlights and minor traces of silver behind some of the letters. The stamp is nearly fully bright and the mica is exceptional with only minor crazing at its extreme outer edges. Considerably nicer than the Mayer example which had a highly polished case.
