    Description

    24¢ Kirkpatrick & Gault

HB-165 EP-171 24¢ Kirkpatrick & Gault About New. About 50% of the original silvering remains on the back of this most attractive 24¢ encasement. The mica is clear and undamaged, and the stamp has retained a fair amount of its original lilac color, unlike most 24¢ examples, which have faded to gray. The stamp is also beautifully centered, allowing the entire denomination to be read. If you have been looking for an extremely nice example of this denomination for your set, this is a piece that should be pursued.
