    HB-141 EP-186 Reed-JG90 90¢ J. Gault Extremely Fine.
Purchased by Bill Kelly from our 2005 FUN auction, where it was described, "The case on this lovely example is toned on the tabs and the outer peripheries of the back to a deep chocolate brown, while the center of the reverse remains a lighter brassy color. The stamp retains its bold deep blue color, and the mica is problem-free save for a small trace of lamination near the top. Although this is the only 90¢ denomination in the entire series that is available in sufficient enough numbers to allow most serious collectors the opportunity to own one, only about a dozen examples are known and most aren't this nice." This 90¢ J. Gault is considered an R-8 by Reed, indicating five to ten examples known. We know of six, and suspect the full census is eight to ten.
