    Description

    HB-137 EP-167 24¢ J. Gault Extremely Fine
While this is the most common of the 24¢ pieces, none are considered common. Fred Reed lists this as an R-4, indicating 31 to 40 known, but that number is probably a little high. The case is an absolutely perfect XF, without a hint of a flaw of any kind. The mica is as close to perfect as these ever get, and the stamp has lost its purple tone and is somewhat gray, yet clear and distinct.
