    Description

    EP-3 HB-17 1¢ Take Ayer's Pills Choice About New.
Our grading policy with encased postage has always been to grade the degree of circulation wear on the case and describe the other elements. This piece is certainly Choice About New by those standards, though the stamp and the mica are both somewhat flawed, bringing the overall value down to that of a nice VF. The case is as fully silvered as any we've ever handled with silvering even on the tops of most letters where it tended to wear off extremely rapidly. An absolute dream piece when viewed from the back. The stamp is rather dull and the mica shows a number of minor cracks and crazes.
