Military Endorsement Ferdinand Molloy Capt. ACS

    T6 $50 1861 PF-1 Cr. 6.
After the start of the war, Secretary of the Treasury C.G. Memminger turned to the New Orleans branch of the ABNCo to fill his needs for additional $50 and $100 notes. A crash program was launched to design a new $50 and $100 using stock ABNCo vignettes that were available. The branch, now using the "Southern Bank Note Company" name for political reasons, was so small that the process of designing and producing new notes was terribly slow. The company finally delivered 5798 $50s and $100s that were issued between August and September 1861. This note was issued to the field on September 22, 1861 by Ferdinand Molloy Captain and ACS (Assistant Commissary of Subsistence). PMG grades this note Choice Uncirculated 63, with small tears that are not readily discernible through the holder.
