    Description

    T42 $2 1862 PF-3 Cr. 336.
Printed by Blanton Duncan, who often proved to be a bit of a "loose cannon," this design is one of the few patriotic designs utilized on Confederate notes, depicting the South striking down the North. Ironically Duncan, in an 1875 article in the New York Times, denied that this design was ever produced. This problem-free example has darker inks and is well printed. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
