    Description

    T41 $100 1862 PF-51 Cr. 327.
    This is one of the few times we have been able to offer a Confederate note with this rubber-stamped notation on it. "ISSUED @ KNOXVILLE. H. McD. McELRATH. MAJR & ? MAR 6 1863" is stamped in black ink. A portion is difficult to read as indicated by the ?. In addition to his rubber-stamped notation, McElrath also issued notes with a handwritten notation. Please see pages 146-147 in Michael McNeil's interesting book, Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes, for more information. This example was printed on watermarked paper with CSA in block letters. PMG Very Fine 25 Net, with a few minor edge tears.
