    Very Bright 1861 $50 Montgomery

    T4 $50 1861 PF-2 Cr. 4.
    A bright representative printed from a half sheet which was made up of a $100 and $50 note. The lowest denomination of the four Confederate notes issued from the first Confederate capital, the Type 4 $50 has survived at almost exactly the same rate as the $100s with over 180 examples known from the original issue of 1,606 pieces. The margins of this note are complete and the signatures of both Clitherall and Elmore are sharp. It is a respectable note originally issued July 16, 1861 graded PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
