    T39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 294.
This is a highly desirable Trans-Mississippi note. It was "Paid out Septbr. 26, 1862 - Chas. L. Lege Capt & AQM CSA." Captain Lege was stationed at Houston, Texas. "If you own a Captain Charles L. Lege endorsed 7.30 it is definitely a Trans-Mississippi issued note" according to Michael McNeil's Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes. This $100 was able to travel all the way to Richmond where it acquired two interest paid to stamps in 1863 and 1864. We also see plate engraver Emiel Thieme's name in the right margin. The back carries a pencilled Criswell number and an early price, too. This note is also closely serial numbered to the Lege example plated on page 127 of the McNeil reference. A great collector note in many respects. Fine and fully framed.
