    Description

    T37 $5 1861 Cr. 284.
Blanton Duncan produced a little over 1,002,000 of these $5s which were issued between April 7 and September 13, 1862. The rather crude nature of this design soon attracted its share of counterfeiters. Mr. Hilton purchased this note from close personal friend and Confederate dealer Hugh Shull in July 1998 for $115. PCGS grades this example Very Fine 30PPQ.
