Fully Framed Blacksmith and Boy Confederate Note

    T32 $5 1861 PF-1 Cr. 246 PMG Very Fine 25.
The Mechanics Savings Bank of Savannah donated a plate to the Confederate Department of the Treasury which was modified by Leggett, Keatinge, & Ball to produce both this note as well as the Type 23 $10. A mere 20,333 notes were produced and issued for just six weeks in November-December, 1861 before production ceased. This note possesses bright paper and bold orange protectors, and is housed in a comment free PMG holder. In our FUN sale this year, we sold a pair of PMG Very Fine 25 examples in our Session 1 Floor sale. They realized an average price of $1,800.
