Acquired from Grover Criswell in 1978

    T27 $10 1861 PF-1 Cr. 221 PMG Very Fine 20.
This $10 was part of a very short run design (8,576 notes were issued) printed by Hoyer & Ludwig which was issued for a mere nine days between late November and early December, 1861. Why production ceased after such a short time is unknown at present. The lower quality paper used for this note has resulted in almost all of the surviving examples having various levels of repairs. PMG notes that this example has evidence of previous mounting and repairs although their presence is not glaringly obvious through the holder. There are very few of these available to satisfy demand. Acquired from Grover Criswell 2/1978.
