    T24 $10 1861 PF-1 Cr. 156.
In one of the many ironies of the Civil War, the vignette of the child on the lower right corner of this note is Rev. Dr. Alfred L. Elwyn as a child in a portrait done by Asher B. Durand in 1840. Elwyn was an ardent Philadelphia abolitionist. This particular vignette was available to the printers and they used it without realizing who the subject was. This was the first Confederate note bearing a portrait of R.M.T. Hunter, Secretary of State for the Confederacy. The PMG label reads cut cancelled and annotation. The annotation is a penned "230" on the back. Very Fine 20, CC.
