    Description

    T22 $10 1861 PF-2 Cr. 152 PMG Very Fine 30.
The C Plate Letter indicates that this note was printed as part of a four-subject plate that included a $5, $10, $20, and $50 note. The $10, like all others designed and printed by Southern Bank Note Co., used all pre-war vintage vignettes. Its red-orange protectors still retain their unoxidized color and the paper is clean and bright. These wholly original examples are quickly being taken out of the market as collectors appreciate their beauty and recognize their rarity. Acquired from Hugh Shull 2/1978.
From the Brigadier General Donald D. McClanahan Collection of Confederate & Confederate States Notes
