    Description

    T22 $10 1861 Cr. 151.
This type is always popular due to its beauty and scarcity. The second-lowest denomination in the Southern Banknote Company vermillion tinted engraved series. The top center with Indian family scene. Upper left, seated female with trident. At upper right, an Indian princess holds up a husk of corn. Vibrant vermillion protector and counters. The margins are mostly rather broad all around. Mr. Hilton acquired this example from close friend and Confederate dealer Hugh Shull in March 1998 for $600. Crisp paper with visible fibers seen from the back. PCGS graded Very Fine 35PPQ. The note exhibits bright surfaces, unoxidized protectors and strong pen signatures. An excellent type note.
