    After producing a short run of T17 $20s, Hoyer & Ludwig produced over 2,366,000 of this simpler design that was issued between October 24, 1861 and August 16, 1862. Counterfeiting was a problem with this design almost from the start. Originally part of the Arnold Cowan Collection, this note was purchased by Mr. Hilton for $65. PCGS grades this note Choice About New 58.
