T67 $20 1864 (Two Examples)
T68 $10 1864
T69 $5 1864.
All four of the notes offered in this lot are dated Feb., 17, 1864 and they all have blue backs. There are two examples of T67 in this lot. One of the notes has the dark red tint. There are flourishes over "THE" above "CONFEDERATE" and there is one flourish above the "ICA" of "AMERICA." This is the No Series variety. The lighter colored T67 has two flourishes over "ICA" of "AMERICA" and is an IX Series note. That example has an old tape repair on the back near the center of the bottom margin. The adhesive has seeped through the paper and is evident on the face as well. The T68 has a vignette of horses pulling a field artillery piece in battle. That example has some red ink in the upper right corner. The T69 has a few small folds and tears along the bottom margin and has the dark red tint. Very Fine.
Estimate: $125 - $175.
