DescriptionInterim Depository Receipt Hanover, Co. (VA)- $100 March 29, 1864 Tremmell VA-183.
This well circulated receipt appears to be unlisted in the Tremmell reference. It is from the Bank of Commonwealth with a note on the back from the Hanover, County branch. Signed by J. B. Morton, it has multiple assignments on the back to the point that an extra piece of paper had to be added for the last one which was to pay the taxes of Edward Winston of the 28th collection district of Virginia. Very Good with ink erosion, edge wear and the aforementioned additional paper. The consignor has this listed as VA-183, but the Tremmell reference goes from VA-182 to VA-184.
